Experience

I graduated from Columbus State University and then went directly into teaching. I spent five years teaching at the middle school level, and I've been teaching high school history courses for nine years. These courses include European history, world history, and US history, including AP level courses. The most significant thing I've learned as a tutor is that every class is different, and it's always great to look back on this to see the progress and successes each class has made. My most rewarding moment is when students comment that they were bad at history or didn't like the topic until they took my course. I believe history can be important in the minds of every student, but it's my job to relate events and ideas to our current lives help students understand that. When I have free time, I like to exercise and read historical fiction.
